We LOVE to welcome visitors...!

On 20 March 2024, Cindy-Lee van Reenen and her team from Drakenstein Fire and Rescue Services visited Butterfly House to educate our children on fire safety. The children learned who to contact in case of an emergency and how to respond when there is a fire. We have quite a few aspiring firemen! Thank you for your ongoing support Drakenstein Fire and Rescue Services and we look forward to working together in the future!

To join our Water and Fire Safety Theme for the week, we recently had the privilege of welcoming Eoudia Erasmus from the NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) at Butterfly House. Our ECD and Aftercare children found the session extremely educational and very insightful, thank you very much!!

On 27 March 2024, Jö Grobler, Boland Environmental Educator from Cape Leopard Trust visited our ECD play school to educate our little ones on leopards and their environment. The Cape Leopard Trust is engaged in innovative research, conservation and education projects established to facilitate and promote the conservation of biological diversity. The session was very interactive and our children were captivated by Jӧ’s storytelling. Each child received a book ‘Footprints in the Fynbos’ that they could take home. Thank you Jӧ for inspiring us all to take care of our environment!

Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) came to visit our aftercare to do a session with the children with the focus on Child Protection.

It's essential for children to learn about safety and protection, and we appreciate that the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) unit is taking an active role in educating our children. These sessions can empower children with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and understand their rights. It also helps build a supportive community that values the well-being and security of every child. Such initiatives are crucial in creating a safer environment for children to grow and thrive.

The Cape Winelands Municipality's environmental department's visit to our aftercare center highlights the importance of community engagement in environmental education.

Sessions on personal hygiene and recycling are essential for fostering sustainable practices from a young age.

Jö Grobler's presentation from The Cape Leopard Trust has been an enriching experience, offering the children valuable insights into the lives of leopards and the significance of preserving their natural habitats. Such initiatives are crucial for nurturing a sense of stewardship towards our environment among the younger generations.
